Include post-disaster guidance.
The guidance that does exist focuses on pre-impact actions (e.g., evacuation and sheltering) and is largely silent on what happens afterward. However, supervision often fails in the aftermath: appointments missed while displaced, paperwork lost, monitoring equipment without power, address changes the agency does not know about, and identification submerged in floodwater. Agencies should state explicitly how individuals under supervision are to re-establish contact once cellular service returns, how to report a temporary address without it being treated as an unauthorized move, how to recover or replace damaged monitoring equipment, and where the agency will operate if its primary field office is inaccessible.
